Dan Van Houten

Dan is a Native Iowan and grew up in Council Bluffs. After he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School he went right into the work force and developed very strong habits and work ethic which has served him well as he entered the Real Estate Field in 1984 as a Career.

He joined the NP Dodge Family on August 1st 1994 and is the Youngest person ever promoted by the Company at that time to a Managerial Broker Position on Jan 1, 1995 as the Broker Manager of the Council Bluffs Offices. He has been helping and coaching agents build their careers ever since.

In the year 2000, Dan was promoted to the Vice President for the Iowa Operations and Offices for the NP Dodge Company. He was instrumental in the promoting of and mergers and acquisitions with five other real estate companies so that the NP Dodge Company would have a strong presence in Southwest Iowa. His Realtor's territory cover all of Southwest Iowa and Southeast Nebraska.

• 2011 Realtor of the Year for the Southwest Iowa Association of Realtors
• Served on the Board of Directors for the Abstract Guarantee Company
• Chaired and still Serving since 1990, longest ever member on the Planning Commission for the City of Council Bluffs
• Member of the "First Ave Corridor Advisory Committee" for the City of Council Bluffs
• Member and Director for the Chamber of Commerce for the City of Council Bluffs
• Trustee and Chair for the Board of Trustees for the Historic General Dodge House in Council Bluffs a National Historic Landmark
