Association covenants and home building specifications are carefully enforced for protection of the lake and homeowners who build on its shores. Public education is provided by the newly unified West Douglas County School District. Parochial schools and churches of many denominations are found in nearby communities as are libraries, a YMCA, restaurants, and an active community theater.
